Kim will guide you through a collaborative or mediation process, identifying the things you need to be thinking about and supporting you as you move forward, making the best possible decisions for you and your family. She will work alongside you in a cost-effective way, to help you reach your goals and move on with your life with positivity and intention.
Kimberley’s professional experience spans over 25 years in law and government. She graduated from Queen’s University Law School in 1996 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998.
Education & Experience
Kimberley worked as an associate with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in Toronto before joining the Ontario Government, where she developed a passion for effective engagement and collaboration among diverse groups. This led to training in mediation and collaborative family law. Kimberley started her own family law practice in 2013 and ultimately became the owner of Family Law Solutions upon the retirement of Lesley Matthewson, the firm’s founder. Kimberley is also the founder of Teal Family Mediation Inc., together with her colleagues Melissa Hoppe and Zahra Taseer.
Kimberley is an Accredited Family Mediator (Acc FM) with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation.
She is also an executive member of Collaborative Practice Hamilton Halton, a local practice group for collaborative lawyers, financial and family professionals.
